Home Made with Xara Web Designer Keswick upon Derwentwater is situated in a beautiful mountainous location in the north of the Lake District National Park, and consequently receives around 2 million visitors each year from all over the world.  The Keswick in Bloom organisation has been established for many years with the prime objective of enhancing the natural and planted environment of Keswick in co-operation with local organisations, and particularly the staff at the two main parks. Keswick in Bloom volunteers work hard to ensure the town always looks its best for the residents and visitors with respect to floral and permanent planting displays, and also engage in projects to maintain and enhance our heritage whilst respecting the environment.  We organise a local competition for residents, (click on the KIB Competition button), a children’s painting competition, (click on the KIB Window and Events button), and support the Keswick Tourism Association “in bloom” competition, click here for more information and links to KTA members websites. NEWS Cumbria in Bloom The results of the Cumbria in Bloom competition have been announced, and Keswick has beenpresented with a Silver Gilt Award.  We came second behind Grange over Sands (who are competing in this year’s Britain in Bloom), and second overall in the County.  Thank you to everyone for all their efforts in achieving this result.                                Fund Raising, Sponsors and Donations We are a voluntary body and rely on grants and donations to fund our activities.  We are grateful for the ongoing financial support from Keswick Town Council and Allerdale Borough Council that provides the bedrock for the plants, compost and other regular consumables.  We have also received support from the Lottery Awards for All for our Tithebarn Corner project, and from Cumbria County Council Neighbourhood Awards scheme for the Kiosk Bed project.  More details of these and other projects are on the Beds and Planters page. We also receive money from sponsors - individuals and organisations such as Keswick Rotary and Keswick Lions - for which we are very grateful.  Our two main fund raising events are our Plant Stall in June, and our Coffee Morning in November.  More details will be given as the events draw near. Again, thank you to everyone who supports us.
